All I ask for is to compete. If they compete and show a good attitude, good things will happen. If they don't, they won't be on my track team. I'd like to just sort of thank my assistant coaches for hanging with us. We're glad to get the program back in line.

These girls have all committed and they know what it takes.

I don't think Ellen Davis lost an event as an eighth grader. She's in our top three to throw (today).

I'm excited about it. I'm hoping our girls can do well. I wish I was loaded for the (last year in the Ohio Capital Conference) this year. I know I'll have some champions, but as a team it's hard to say. We can't ever put all the pieces together. But I've got a lot of good young girls.

The kids performed pretty well. They ran some (personal records) but against the competition that they faced ... it was just a nice meet for them.

She'll throw shot and disc. She's scored some points for us over the years and hopefully she'll do a lot this year.

Not bad. This was a good meet for us. It really was. It was a very well-ran meet. It's always good to get a good meet under your belt, especially against local competition.

They stepped it up against the best competition we've faced all year - in cold weather. I'm pretty happy with them all.

It doesn't get any worse than what it was. But my kids competed and that's what we wanted to do. We had some good teams down here. We got it in and that's what it's all about.

Our girls did well considering the weather. They can do better. As the weather gets prettier and they start to realize what it takes to compete, they'll get better.
